Since centuries, because of the tropic clima, on the canary islands, caves where used for to live as well as for Bodegas. Till now, in the farmlands caves are prepared for storage , because this is the cheepest and fastest way to get storage rooms. Cesar Manrique, the well known Architect of the Canary Islands, knew the architectonical efects and the biological clima of caves and integrated caves to the living area of his own house. In the following , we will show an example of a succeeded styled and renovated cave apartment.

In this rustic farmland (Finca rustica) with a fantastic few to the coastline, a group of old goose caves, where renovated to a cave - apartment.

This group of caves is harmonic integrated in the landscape of the neighborhood around. The soft consistence of the rocks, allowes to digg caves within a few hours. Caves are known for a good interior clima.

All rooms of this cave apartment are situated in differend high levels and conected with floors and stairs, 1,5 m wide.
