Gastronomy and Hotels

The Canary kitchen is shaped not only from the variety of tropical fruits which grow on the islands, and the fish-wealth of the Atlantic ocean on the African coast, but also from the traditional agricultural products of the islands. The mild goat-cheese (comparable to Mozzarella when half-ripe), hams which are dried in the air, and especially aromatically tasting good fruit, vegetables and qualitatively high-quality wines (due to the ecological cultivation on the fertile lava-grounds), make the Canary kitchen very tasty and interesting.

Besides the very tasty, typical traditional canary island dishes you will, due to large tourist industry, a wide range of international restaurants to suit every palate.

The variety of accommodation available on Tenerife ranges from first class hotels, some reaching higher standards than are usual in Europe, to normal tourist hotels, as well as tastefully decorated bungalows and apartments with cleaning services. For individualists there are plenty of beautifully renovated, antique buildings in the "tourism - rural - program" available.
